A Morning with Abraham Verghese, M.D.

This is thesecondopinion's 6th Annual Breakfast Speaker Benefit. For this major fundraiser to be a success, we need you to join us!

Dr. Verghese is a wonderful speaker and his new novel is amazing. You will get a copy of "The Covenant of Water" with your ticket purchase or with a donation of $100 or more.

All funds raised from the event will be used to provide free, comprehensive second opinions to cancer patients and their family members.

Abraham Verghese is the Professor for the Theory and Practice of Medicine at Stanford University Medical School and Senior Associate Chair of the Department of Internal Medicine. He is also a best-selling author and a physician with a reputation for his focus on healing in an era where technology often overwhelms the human side of medicine.

The Covenant of Water - A shimmering evocation of a lost India and of the passage of time itself, The Covenant of Water is a hymn to progress in medicine and to human understanding, and a humbling testament to the hardships undergone by past generations for the sake of those alive today. It is one of the most masterful literary novels published in recent years.
